Interests, passions, dreams, tell us everything about you!
“I’d like to be a diplomat to travel, have people over, talk and enrich from all those journeys to foreign countries.”
“In 2011, I founded a food association to invite single people over for dinners and cultural events. I’m passionate about cooking and organizing those events as chairwoman of the association.” Food brings people together, it’s common knowledge!
Her motto ? “Happiness, enjoying the present time and meeting nice people around delicious meals.”
What about your cooking experience?
“My first memory regarding food dates back to fifteen years ago when I tasted a creamy tomato basil soup with fresh goat cheese as an appetizer. It was like a flavor explosion on my taste buds.“
For a last-minute meal, Babeth prefers to play it safe: “I’d prepare pasta with anything in my fridge, such as tomatoes, zucchini and eggs.”
The dish she’s most proud of is “the carpaccio with citrus, chutney of mangos and fresh mangos. What a delight!”
According to Babeth, a successful meal is “a balanced meal from the beginning to the end. The food and the drinks must come together in perfect harmony. The only thing we should hear is the sound of laughters and conversations. Every dinner is a play.”
How would you describe your place?
“At my place, everyone feels good. It’s like a whole story: the former coaching inn, a little garden, beams, a chimney, some family portraits, grandma’s porecelain, a place where time stops for our eyes and taste buds. This is why why the Toqués are so successful (…) a real and unique treasure.” In brief, this is the perfect place for a trip back to the past!
What do you think of Cookening?
“I love Cookening: the website is appealing and the idea is great. In big cities, one people out of two is single, this is why bringing people together around food matters a lot.”
Babeth even has a few ideas for us: “There’s nothing better than press and TV for effective communication. Why not contact a major TV channel for a new reality show focused on meals?”
